Autumn Artwork 3

First of all, welcome to all the wonderful new subscribers!

My latest artwork:
Crimson Rosellas

Autumn in the Gums
Oil on Canvas
1219x914mm
This Crimson Rosella artwork has been inspired by glowing sunlit gumleaves. The light was shining through the gumleaves, creating dapples and vibrant greens and the new pink growth added gorgeous colours and warmth to the artwork. I could think of no other species of bird to put in this setting than the beautiful Crimson Rosellas as the red and blue is so striking against the greens.

Close up of gum leaves

This image reminds me of a few older works of mine that have found homes. I did a series of leaves in sunlight. I may have to consider this subject again! I really love trying to capture the effect of sunlight on leaves. If you head over to the Sold Works part of my website you can have a look at which artworks that I am talking about.
